Kymberly has chosen to convert to the Catholic religion and yesterday her family spent the day celebrating her! I was asked to make a simple pull apart cake in the shape of a cross to recognize Kym and the ceremonies that she would be taking part in yesterday.
This "cake" came out really beautiful and was simple but elegant and appropriate for the occasion. I used a fondant carved plaque to pipe the sentiment and small fondant flowers with candy pearl middles.
Wishing Kym all the best!
Jizelle is turning TWO!
Seriously.... how adorable is this theme. FIrst of all, upon this request I had no idea what a Bubble Guppie was. I still have no idea what a Bubble Guppie is.... All I know is that I have fallen deeply in love with these cute, ugly, little fish babies and their colored hair!
This was my first time doing a character on a cookie and I was a little scared since everyone says "faces" are the hardest to complete. I know I always say the cookies are one of my favorites, but THESE really are one of my favorites. This order was a nice mixed collection of 20 Bubble Guppie cookies and they were so fun to work with.
Happy Birthday Jizelle!
Congratulations Joey and Al!
YES Joey!- your name is first! But I had to mention Al too :-)
Today was Joey's bridal shower and it was put together beautifully with sweet and romantic details.
Joey's sister chose to have a light pink, white and gold color theme to decorate the cupcakes and the party space. The fondant styled cupcakes were a first for me, but they turned out to be ones that I can't wait to make again! 3 different colors, 3 different styles for the ONE and only Joey!
Gumball Cake- 25 Cents for 25 years!
I don't usually focus on making cakes...They are such an art and I look up to ANYONE who makes tiered cakes without being nervous that they are going to topple over, crack, fall, or sink in. But with that being said, I had an order for a 25th birthday for a smaller gumball themed cake. And of course I said yes.
Truthfully, I usually do sketches of what I want my desserts to look like before hand.. and I pick colors way before hand. But for this cake I just did it as it came to my mind. Since the colors are so bright fun and alllll over the place, I figured it would be ok. It turned out to be such a bomb of color fun.
Happy birthday Vanessa! No one is too old for gumballs and candy colors!
