I am going to be a Godmother for the first time! Her name will be Aliza Emmy and she will be the sweetest baby ever! José and I threw Alicia a little baby sprinkle yesterday to wish her well on welcoming her second daughter. The theme I chose was whales and anchors. Coincidentally, the theme and EXACT colors was what Alicia chose to decorate Aliza's new room with! So the over-doing-it of the baby whales worked out great!
The sprinkle consisted of a couple games with prizes, a headband bar for Aliza, yummy food, and all of the desserts below! A mini whale cake, buttercream cupcakes, dipped pretzels, dipped wafers, magic bars, Oreo truffles, mini cream pies, and customized cookies. So cute!
So, as we all know, Rook Coffee Roasters has become a favorite of not only locals, but coffee lovers from everywhere! Holly and her Rook team have worked so hard to get their product out into the hands of people who have become Rook addicts, and the most loyal of customers.
I thought that I would take some time out to create a small collection of Rook cookies to congratulate Holly on her success and recognize Rooks big mention in Maxim Magazine for being the top 7 best iced coffees in America. Awesome!!! Can't wait to see how far Rook will go!
My coworker had the best idea of giving a box of personalized cookies to each of her sons teachers. A box of five personalized cookies scream "thank you" to the people that help annnnd put up with your sweet little kids all year long!
On another note.. I have realized that summer is the ultimate enemy of the royal icing cookie. It was all smooth sailing up to this point but the heat got the best of me! For the first time, the humidity outside plus the air conditioning inside caused my cookies to never ever ever dry. A tacky, sticky, disaster. Yup.. I had to toss them all and start over again. The second time around worked just fine but I definitely had a nice melt down. One of the "wake your mother up to tell her you never want to make cookies again" kind of melt downs. Anyway... I loved the end result and couldnt wait to box them and send them off!
Thank your teacher or your students with something sweet!
As a teacher it feels wonderful to receive thoughtful gifts from parents and students...and as a student it is even more wonderful to receive a holiday treat before vacation begins! These pops are cute ways of saying "thank you" to someone special this holiday season.
This year, it is all about Home-made, Hand-crafted and from the Heart--
